The River

The Virgin River ~ our new favorite hang out! Its warm and close to home, plus the kids love to skim-board, and play with the dog, who LOVEs the water almost as much as Charley. Its not the cleanest river in the world, but its good enough for us! Its really shallow, not more than 2 feet in the deep parts. And there's lots of spots that are about an inch, which is prime skim-boarding! Its really cool, they just run, throw down the board and hop on! Then its like they are surfing...only shallower....and for shorter distances. Its fun to watch. Jackson is by far the best out of us, then Kurt, and then Ellie. I have tried and end up with a very sore backside, and Emma doesn't dare do it. Charley doesn't care, but I am sure she would be good at it! She just likes to play on the sandbar, and run in the water. I like that its shallow, with a pretty weak current so I can just let her be. Its very peaceful, and we are happy to have discovered a place to cool down and hang out.

...but I dont have wings...

She finally learned how to make a party pizza all by herself! Take that Jackson! It was so cute how she went from almost freaking out about making it herself and throwing a fit, to a growing smile with each accomplishment...from turning on the oven, setting the temp, opening the pizza box, placing it on the cookie sheet. She got the apron on while she waited for the beep. She used her oven mits to place the pizzas in the oven and set the timer. Twelve minutes later...she got her reward! She smiled at me and said 'I can't believe I know how to make pizza!' My little blue eyes is growing more and more each day. I think she is enjoying it too.
