{LUCKY}

Someone around here is gifted. I swear. The man can win at anything. He is good at everything. He can make anything. He put 5 bucks in a nickel slot in the middle of the desert and hits the jackpot after losing $2.50! Then he finds out his prize is not just a tv or dvd player, no. His Major Award is a Kawasaki Mule 610 4x4. I know. I didn't know what that was either. 'Its a sooped up 4-wheeler.......a side by side' Says Jackson. OHHHH! wow! Kurt has been in an exceptionally good mood these days with Mule on the brain!...'we can take it camping, and hunting, and fishing....' He is in HEAVEN! Anyway, not to brag... but he is just sooo darn LUCKY! congrats Kurt on your 'major award'. Is that f-r-a-geelay? It must be french.

So, how do we get a 1/2 ton oversized sooped up side by side machine home through the desert? Let's see if he can pull it off!

Blue in the face

Close call around here... I was getting ready for work and the kids were just playing when I heard the kids yelling my name. I'm in the master bath with the blow dryer on when in walks Ellie with fear in her eyes, a purple face slowly turning blue, more blue by the second with her hands around her neck. I asked her what happened but she couldn't talk, she just kinda barked like a choking dog, when she took her hands off her neck and showed me what was wrong. PANIC struck me so fast.... all I could think was 'shit, my kid is gonna die! call 911, call 911' in my head. I grabbed her and screamed to get her to the garage so we could use some snips to cut off this contraption she had around her neck. It was a little helpful garage tool... a glorified zip tie of sorts used to hold the electrical cords together neatly. Picture a plastic handcuff mixed with a zip tie. I was under the impression that it had to go all the way around to get loose. Well Jackson comes running in and says 'just undo it! take it off!' And I tried to explain to him that its caught and I can't get it off. While Ellies lips are turning BLUE. Jackson grabs her neck and gives it a squeeze and UNHOOKS the stupid thing temporarily choking her. And pulls it off her neck. I was so relieved and scared, I smacked her but and then held her in my arms for about 15 minutes yelling at her how stupid that was!!! crying the whole time.

So please. remind your kids that its NEVER ok to put ANYTHING around their necks.

12 Years Together, and the best is yet to come

So Kurt and I have now officially been married for 12 years... it should be 14, but I will take it! I tried to think of something ultra romantic that a guy would like to do, and came up a little short. Its hard when he is here so little! Anyway, we ended up playing bingo after we had a very good prime rib dinner. But more than that, I just enjoyed spending time with the man. He, however, out did me this year on the romance factor. He wrote me a song, which he recorded and placed on the ipod for me to listen to. SO SWEET!! Its a good song too, made me cry! He hasn't written me a song since we were first married. Needless to say, my gift paled in comparison, a love note with some chocolate covered strawberries. Yeah, I will work on my creativity for next year!! Anyway, I wish I could post the song but that is not my area of expertise. Anyway, I am so happy to have made 12 years... he is amazing. I love his talents and the way he loves his kids. You know how sometimes you don't know how good you have it? Well, I know now. He is the best ever, and I can't wait to live the rest of our lives together. After all, he is my Edward! ;)

all the songs on the new playlist are reminders of the past 12 years with Kurt, I could go on forever in that department, but you know, the playlist songs are limited!!

The weekend

We were soooo fortunate to get a visit from Kurts brother Tyler, his wife Alisha, and their gorgeous daughters, Taylor and Marissa (missy)!!! They braved the heat and made it all the way to St George! I wondered if they were hot the whole time?!! It was good to see them and the girls have grown tons! Taylor and Charley played very well together. Little missy loved the swings which made Kurt very happy. Me too, cause now he can't tear it down and put in a pizza oven in that spot... he is nuts, its true. Anyway, we got to go to dinner and have a little adult time while Jackson watched the girls with no major catastrophies or casualties, so that made me happy! On Saturday we even got to watch Jacksons team play 2 games, of which Ty and Alisha and kids were able to watch the afternoon game before they headed for home. I really enjoyed having them here, and look forward to the cabin this summer!!

quick shot of the cuties!!

A Hug For Grandpa

Charley had her birthday a few weeks ago, she is now *big* and 4. She was super lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa visit...even with Grandma not feeling her best. She loves her presents so much. Thanks for coming to see our little monster carefully open her presents..trying not to rip the paper. tee hee. And Kurt and I were so happy to play Pickleball for your entertainment..and glad grandpa could get in on the action. It was so nice to see you. Hope you are both over the sickness!

Anyway, Charley was so patient all day. We didn't have her cake and presents until after dinner. Cakes always take forever for me to decorate. All she wanted was a cake with a strawberry on top. Then it changed to a cake with a strawberry and with frosting...then a flower cake with pink frosting and a strawberry on top. Well she got what she wanted! It almost didn't make it, but we are glad I was able to pull it off! (small frosting disaster and a house that was way to warm)
I love her face is this shot.... She was so *excidic* (her word) for her cake!

Her daddy bought her two dresses with high heels, she got lots of 'Ariel' toys, a play phone, Igor the movie, a Dora toy, and a dressy coat. She thinks the coat is a dress, and wears it with huge purple fuzzy slippers... makes me laugh out everytime I see it. She is such a classic.
When she was done unwrapping her gifts, she set her head in her arms on the table and just looked at her presents and marveled that they were all 'hers'. She can be so sweet~

A twirly skirt from Grandma L - - - she wears it almost everyday...It already has holes in it!

I can't believe she is 4 years old. It was so much fun having a three year old. I am sure 4 will be just as good...it will just take a while! Preschool in the fall here we come!
