This week has been again incredibly busy.. trying to finish everything for school... finishing edits...mailing things...groceries...work...
does it ever end?
How is it possible to take on more?
Why do I WANT to do more?
I am insane.
So this week I ended up helping out Emma's teacher, which in a way, is my responsibility since I am her room mom. But this was beyond the party planning and supply grabbing. (i did that too, since it was teacher appreciation week)
Emma's third grade class had been working on perfoming a play [a midsummer nights dream] and it came down to crunch time. I went in to the class for something for TAW and ended up helping with costumes and scenery. Then came dress hehearsal and oh my gosh, third graders are a little bit obnoxious! maybe I don't want to teach third grade... made me think twice about it! but Kurt steared me back on track with his wise words that once I am 'the teacher' I will be in control and they will do what I say. Is that true? I don't know. i think some kids are just wild and disobedient period. anyway, they did REALLY well with their lines, most of them, and their costumes were great. It was a lot of work for me so I can't imagine how run down Emma's teacher is after working on it for 2 months. Anyway, I was so involved with sending kids out on stage at the right time, I forgot to take some pictures. So you will just have to take my word for it, that it happened, it was great, and now... Its OVER!

oblivion
I have been completely swamped lately and have no time to tell the tale.
I had a wonderful mothers day! My meals were made for me, and I got to plant a garden with Kurt and the kids :) I missed them all very much after being out of town for 4 days. The workshop was awesome! I want to go again, just to soak it all in. seriously, amazing. I got to take charley with me this time, so that in itself was a little adventure. She has picked up a little bit of my road rage vocabulary from driving in downtown SLC... its not pretty words either. So you might learn a few things if you pay close attention to what she is saying. And I have to hugely thank Mom and Les for watching the little motor mouth (right?) for me while I was there. It was worrisome for me for both of you cause she can be a bit of a time consumer... she likes to talk, and usually if you are not looking at her when she has something to say, she will put her hands on your cheeks and turn your head to her. I get that a lot. :) anyway, thanks again. I think I am ready for being home for a while. Its hard to be away from my environment. I miss home a lot at night. I love my bed and the warm St George nights. I don't like being cold anymore. 90's are JUST right. SERIOUSLY!! So I guess thats it for now. I must get back to the grind.
peace out All!

Why do I ever leave home?
I am not sure. Honestly, I am happy being a homebody. I love not having to go to the grocery store for a week. I am perfectly content to stay and play in the backyard as opposed to going to a city park or something of that nature. So every once in a while I get the bug to leave. I know its insanity. I not only leave, I schedule for people to be my muse and make them suffer through horrendous winds, even on occasion rain, all for my own personal delight. Then not only does it rain like quarters falling from the sky, I am an honest space cadet and leave my duffle bag of clothes in the back of the truck to not just get wet, but soaked. So I leave town to wear the same clothes, undies and all, for 2 days. It must be a subconscious childhood issue coming to the surface in my adulthood. Its all twisted and weird and doesn't make sense.
So how to I repay myself? I do it again 2 weeks later.
Oh yeah, and who as an adult woman still puts her clothes in a 'duffle bag'? Never did get luggage... how nice would that have been?

{Making up is hard to do}
I meant to blog about all the happenings around here as they were happening, but seriously, they all seem to happen in the same week! Except for the first happening which was back in March when we were visited by the lovely Mom and Mike for a spring fling! It was fun! There was jumproping, red rock walking, and of course, a trip to the river. It was warmer than I thought it would be, but not as deep as I thought it would be. Mom of course brought lots of food with her... we had yummy chili and sundaes and even a Ham!! I thought I was in heaven! I swear, she is the only person who brings food to my house... she must not know there is a walmart less than 4 minutes away. Anyway, I didn't get picts of my favorite part... looking over the town from the top of a red rock rim, but the river was a super close second!
down at the virgin river taking the kids to skim board and hopefully take the paved path for a walk, but that didn't happen. It was windy and cold, but they played a little in the water anyway!
The next event would have to be Ellies Spring Play "How does your garden grow?" put on solely by the second grade class. They were all very cute in their costumes! Ellie was a peapod.
This is her speaking part where she said, " I think she heard a rumor she was going to be COLESLAW!" after which the whole second grade screamed COLESLAW???!!! to the queen cabbage... its a funny play and the kids love the weeds who rap and wear sunglasses.
HERSHEY TRACK MEET
Emma ran the 100 yard dash.... with her jacket on and unzipped which slowed her down tremendously, but she had a smile the whole time like she didn't really understand where she was running to but that it was fun to not be in school and her friends were there so all is good and right with the world!
Luckily Charley and I got to brave through the cold morning and watch the events. Emma was the second to last race of the day.
E A S T E R
This year I sent the kids on a treasure hunt to find their baskets. I had to do something super awesome since their baskets were a little less full this year. They each got a toy, stuffed animal, kite, and eggs and candy. Its not like they were deprived. I just didn't get them head to toe outfits like usual. Trust me, they did not suffer. Anyway, my mom did this for us as kids when we got a little older. She sent us in all different directions all over the yard. And mine ended up being hid inside the dryer. So where did my kids baskets end up? Yeah, in the dryer. This year I sent them all together because poor Charley can't read yet so I didn't want her lagging behind and not in on the fun with the older kiddies. It was a great easter, yummy candy and eventually we served a yummy ham dinner, except no one ate my cupcakes...I guess they don't like coconut!
THE BEARD

He said I am blogging about something I don't know about so I will just leave this one up for random comments
